Overview

The objective was clear: to move beyond a dated interface and limited functionalities, establishing a cutting-edge digital platform that aligns with contemporary user expectations and industry standards. As a Product-minded Engineer, I led the comprehensive redesign, focusing on both reimagining the user experience (UX) and redesigning intuitive new features. My process involved conducting in-depth user research to identify pain points and user desires, followed by an iterative approach to UI/UX design.

The Challenge

The existing First Atlantic Bank app suffered from an outdated interface, complex navigation, and a lack of advanced features that users now expect from a leading financial institution. This resulted in lower user engagement and a competitive disadvantage in the rapidly evolving digital banking landscape.

The Process

This app was designed to challenge the current trend in banking app development in Ghana. We made it look easy to use and integrated functional features like Virtual Cards, Savings Management, and Investment portfolio.

Intuitive & Modernized User Interface (UI)

Clean Aesthetics: A complete visual overhaul with a fresh color palette, modern typography, and crisp iconography for a contemporary look and feel.

Streamlined Navigation: Re-architected information hierarchy and introduced bottom navigation bar for quick, one-tap access to frequently used features (e.g., Accounts, Transfers, Payments, More).

Personalized Dashboard: A customizable home screen providing an at-a-glance overview of balances, recent transactions, and quick access to favorite actions, tailored to individual user behavior.

It was important to us to add innovative features like stocks and crypto investing to differentiate First Atlantic Bank from its competitors and help user grow their funds. They could also create their budget plan within the app and never have to worry about spending more than they intend to. With this reimagined app, they are certain to know where their money goes and even where it should go.
